APLICACIÓN WALKIE TALKIE EN MICROSOFT TEAMS

Microsoft Teams has made its Walkie Talkie feature available to all users. The push-to-talk feature was introduced two years ago as a way for frontline workers to communicate easily in the field, when the pandemic rate was at its peak. The app can now be accessed on Android and iOS devices.

The Walkie Talkie app is a push-to-talk (PTT) communication feature that allows users to connect with their computer through a respective channel.

Unlike a voice call, in the Walkie Talkie feature We do not have to wait for the other person to accept or pick up, but everything we say is heard directly, as if we were tuning in to the same frequency. This forces the use of this new function to be limited to very specific work circumstances where we have no problem receiving this type of message at any time: police, firefighters, health workers, construction workers, etc.

Microsoft has announced that this Teams feature is available for iPhone and iOS, so they can already communicate with each other quickly and taking advantage of the data connection or wifi.

¿How Walkie Talkie works in Microsoft Teams?

The new function incorporated by Microsoft to its video calling platform allows you to turn the smartphone or tablets into a classic Walkie Talkie, but in this case it works through data or Wi-Fi network. This replaces the need to carry bulky radios by offering a secure line of communication.

Currently, the feature is not pre-installed. To enable WalkieTalkie for use in Teams, organizations will need to go through a setup process and once activated, the feature will be available within the next 48 hours.
